In attempting to construct and verify the ease of use (and minimization of user error) of a software based user interface it is of value to have a way to track and analyze use of an interface by user representatives, beta testers, and even as part of post market failure investigation. A few years ago we ran into a tool called Ergolight which focuses on this for windows based interfaced and just recently announced support for web based applications.
